Just saw this clip & it looks like Cramer is about to blow a gasket.

I’m an optimistic guy, but I’m also realistic. This could get ugly.Update:

“Of course Cramer is wrong. This is a classic credit crunch with rapidly increasing nonprice rationing. Cutting the rate would help a few homeowners, but it is the tightening lending standards for both mortgages and corporate credit (especially junk rated bonds) that are causing the credit crunch. “

Announcing our New MLS Search

I’ve been working to add new features to the resource sidebar that folks who are looking to move to the East Bay would find useful.

One of the latest additions is a map-based East Bay MLS search feature which allows for potential home buyers to search the MLS to homes on the market at their discretion.

I’ve set it up so that anyone can search and look at up to 5 properties without registering. After that, I’ll ask you for some basic contact info.

I’ve played around with it a bit and I definitely prefer it to our old one. Try it out and let me know what you think.

Hey everybody. I’m still here. I actually have still been blogging, it’s just that I’ve been blogging over at ActiveRain.

The ActiveRain Real Estate Network is a super vibrant community and the conversation is awesome over there. The industry professionals blogging and conversing over there truly care about what they do and it shows.

I gush about it to all my co-workers and truly believe that sites like ActiveRain will help this industry move into the future with confidence.

In the near term, I’m going to be focusing on building the framework of this site while blogging over on ActiveRain.

In the meantime, I’m looking for suggestions of what people want to see on a real estate website. No suggestion is too crazy. There is no box. Leave a comment if you have one.

This Post is Bigger than East Bay Real Estate

I know that this is primarily an East Bay real estate site. I’m a Berkeley real estate agent interested in technology and that’s what I tend to write about. I’m constantly working to add new functionality to this site which will provide value to those thinking about buying, selling, or investing in real estate. I know that this site is my voice in the Social Real Estate Web.

I never talk about religion, politics, conspiracies, UFO’s, Secret Governments, or the Chicago Bears.

That’s why it’s so shocking that I’m even going where I’m about to go in this post.

Playoff Fever Hits the Bay Area

One of the best parts about living in Berkeley is the abundance of sports teams to cheer for. In fact, right now, playoff fever is sweeping through the area and it’s a great time to be a Bay Area sports fanatic.

The Golden State Warriors, who play their home games in the Oracle Arena in Oakland, are back in the playoffs and on the verge of one of the biggest upsets in NBA history. After a strong finish, which earned them the 8th seed in the west, they ended up drawing the #1 seed Dallas Mavericks in the first round.

By splitting the first two games in Dallas, and sweeping both games in Oakland over the weekend, the Warriors hold a 3-1 lead and only need one more to win to take the series.

Can the Warriors shock the world by knocking the heavily favored Mavs out of the playoffs? They’ll have their first chance tonight in Dallas.

The Warriors aren’t the only area team making a playoff run.

Our local NHL team, the San Jose Sharks started their second round series against the Detroit Red Wings with a split in Detroit and a win last night at HP Center to take a 2-1 series lead.

I know that hockey isn’t as popular as it used to be, but when playoff fever hits your area, its always exciting.

Oakland A’s, Back in the Swing of Things

After an exciting weekend series against the Yankees in which they took two out of three and yesterday’s exciting win over the LA Angels, the baseball season is now back in swing.

With BART service running straight to the coliseum, heading to the ballpark to catch one of the most exciting teams in MLB is a great East Bay activity to check out.

They also have one of the best fan blogs, Athletics Nation. If you’re looking for in depth analysis, the diaries and their comments is a great place to find it.

A Cool Rent vs Buy Calculator

Real Estate Roller Coaster

Over at Speculative Bubble, they took US Home prices adjusted for inflation and plotted as a roller coaster. It’s a nice little ride, but the ending is a little scary.
